cylinder heads · FF-0037
Why were aluminum heads on 1933–1936 Ford Flatheads so often replaced with cast iron?
The steel head studs corroded against the aluminum heads, making the heads almost impossible to remove. Ford offered cast-iron versions over the counter, and many customers and maintenance shops switched.
