How should valve seats be ground on a Ford Flathead?
Ed stands the block straight up, coats the area with dye to see where the seat is cut, and uses a pilot that centers in both the valve guide and the lifter bore. A spring under the stone lifts it off the seat when he stops pushing. He brushes the lifter bores and seats clean before assembly.
