When did Ford Flathead connecting rods change from full-floating bearings to inserts?
The 1932–1948 engines used full-floating rod bearings that rotated in the rod and on the crankshaft. For 1949–1953, Ford adopted insert-style rod bearings that turn only on the crankshaft.
