Why do most three-carburetor Flathead setups run on the center carburetor?
Ed says most three-carburetor setups end up with the two end carburetors blocked off and run on the center one, because three carburetors are three to adjust, repair and work on. On this engine the linkage is progressive: it runs on the center carburetor up to a certain speed, then pushing on the gas opens the others, like almost all Tri-Powers.
