Why doesn't an off-the-shelf alternator bracket work on a Tri-Power Flathead?

Ed says nobody makes a bracket like his. The bracket that is made puts the alternator above the head, right on the water hose, and Flatheads have two upper hoses, one on each side. His machined one-inch block lets the alternator slide up and down while both hoses stay where they are supposed to be.
