How will Ed adapt the marine Mallory distributor to a Flathead Ford?

Ed plans to knock the key out, tear the distributor apart and shorten the shaft for a Flathead Ford, which also lets him get some advance in it. It can run dual points or one point set and runs the same. To set dual points, he puts a piece of cardboard in one set, sets the other, then swaps.
