Why do builders replace the torque tube with an open driveshaft?
Ed calls the torque tube crazy and agrees with Barry that it limits what can be done with the rear differential. With an open drive shaft they will probably fit an 8-inch Ford Mustang rear end, and the shaft slides right on.
