How does Ed add a floor shift to a side-shift Flathead three-speed?

The side-shift transmission has two shafts sticking out of its side cover, which Ed compares to a 1949 to 1953 Chevy transmission. He says it is easy to adapt levers to those shafts for a floor shift.
