Which U.S. Flathead features does the French block combine?
Steve says the French block is a mixture of American designs. The block is 8BA style, 1949-1953, with the extra passenger-side bolt and the 8BA water-pump bolt pattern, but it has a cast-in bellhousing like the 1932-1948 engines. He had heard it was 25 to 30 pounds heavier than an American Flathead.
