What open-driveshaft transmissions came behind 1949 and later Ford Flatheads?
Ed says the 1949 and newer Flatheads, which builders like for their open drive shaft, came with several transmissions, including the granny four-speed in 3/4 ton trucks and a simple three-speed with a short tail housing. He shows a three-speed on a heavy truck bell housing with motor mounts on each side, which he would not use in a car.
