When did the Ford Flathead V8 come out, and why is a real 1932 engine hard to find?

Steve says the Ford Flathead V8 came out in March 1932, with some urgency to get the new 1932 Ford on the road and to introduce a mass-produced V8 to the general public. There were a lot of changes within the 1932 model year, and the engine kept changing in 1933 and 1934, so finding a real 1932 engine is pretty difficult today. Barry adds that Henry Ford had been working hard to get a single-casting V8 that could be made at scale at a good cost.
