How did Joe Abbin's Flathead supercharger kit come about?
Joe reasoned that because the Flathead does not breathe well, the answer was to blow air into it. There were few blown Flatheads, but Speedway had a kit, which he bought and found very rough, and its supplier Camden later went out of business. He found that Weiand and B&M had equivalent blowers, designed his own manifold, and developed a kit. He says he sold 350 of them, more than Weiand had sold for the small-block Chevy.
