What happened to Joe Abbin's first supercharged Flathead?

Joe says the first engine ran fine but was not up to the standard of the second, so he put it in his 1950 Mercury, where it has been on the road for 25 years and has accumulated 6,000 miles with no service. The engine in the 1934 Ford has only 2,000 to 3,000 miles on it, but many drag strip runs.
