Why are the Flathead supercharger manifolds CNC machined instead of cast?

Joe says the manifolds started out cast, but the outfit that made the patterns bought castings from several vendors and each manifold came out different. He moved to an all CNC-machined manifold, and Steve and Dion Casto in Nevada City, Texas refined the design to make it a little easier to machine. With CNC every manifold is precise and the same, and Joe says they fit better than the factory manifold.
