Can an add-on oil filter lower a Flathead's oil pressure?

Yes, the way this one was plumbed. The owner had teed into the oil pressure line, run it through a filter and dumped it back into the oil pan, the way the original Ford setup did. Ed says that does not do much and robbed half the oil pressure, because some of the oil went to the bearings and some went through the filter and back to the pan, so it was not a pressurized system. Ed unhooked it and hooked the pressure up direct.
