Why put an engine on a dyno if computer models already predict the power?

Steve says study and computer models are excellent tools, but the proof is on the dynamometer, which does not lie. Mechanical problems can also show up there, and it is better to find them on the dyno than after the engine is in a car or truck. Before the test he predicted this engine would make somewhere around 280 to 290 horsepower.
