How high should a built Flathead be revved on the dyno?
Steve wants to start at about 5,500 rpm and, if there are no problems, go to 5,800 toward the end. He also has a pulley about 10 percent smaller to try if the engine is happy. Ed notes that in stock form these Flatheads normally run to about 3,500 rpm as the fastest they ever go.
