How does an engine dyno keep the water temperature steady?
Robert King explains that the big water tank behind the dyno acts as the radiator. A valve at the bottom frequently pulls in water to keep the temperature consistent, because if the water temperature climbs the dyno will give a different horsepower number. Holding it within a set range lets him make pass after pass that can be compared.
