sealing · FF-0326

What should you check on a used Flathead block before fitting new seals?

Steve does not expect hidden defects, but says to inspect as you would any part of the block: rust or corrosion where the seals ride, the crankshaft surface at the back and the front sleeve all need to be smooth, clean and free of corrosion and debris so a good seal is possible.
