Can crankcase vacuum reduce windage in a Flathead?
Steve says he does not know for certain. His opinion is yes, to an extent: a vacuum system pulls air and blow-by gases out of the crankcase, and race engines typically use one because there are benefits. He is not sure how much of that benefit is windage, and thinks it probably applies to a Flathead less than to a NASCAR or Top Fuel engine.
