supercharging · FF-0328

Can a Flathead supercharger kit be used on another engine, such as a Plymouth six?

The superchargers themselves are universal and can be adapted to nearly any engine. Steve's rule of thumb is a supercharger with about half the engine's displacement, then use pulley size to speed it up or slow it down. His 174 moves 174 cubic inches of air per revolution on an engine of about 290 cubic inches; the smallest he works with is 142 cubic inches, which would suit an engine of that size run a little slower. The real work is adapting it to an intake manifold and a crank pulley.
