What machine work does Ed's shop do when the owner assembles the Flathead himself?
Ed says the shop has a reputation for Flatheads, and has two 1938 engines in at once. This owner is going to put his engine together himself, so he supplies the parts and the shop checks all the clearances and does the machining: surfacing the heads, boring the block, and the crankshaft if it needs turning, though Ed thinks the crank is done. The owner then puts it back together.
