Does the ARDUN valley cover bolt straight onto an 8BA block?

Not quite. The cover has eight hold-down bolts laid out for the 59-style block. An 8BA block has fewer intake bolt holes than the earlier engines, in the same locations, so two of the holes the cover needs were never drilled. Steve had to drill and tap those two holes in his 8BA block.
