oiling · FF-0404
What happens to the exhaust ports in the block after an ARDUN conversion?
They become an oil leak path. With the exhaust valve and guide gone, only a push rod runs up where the valve was, so oil can drain around and out through the old exhaust port. The intake side just drains back into the valley. One common fix is a flange, fitting and tube on each port to drain the oil into the pan; some people drill fittings into a stock Ford pan for this.
