How were the unused exhaust passages dealt with on Steve Coppock's ARDUN block?

They were filled all the way to the top with the block filler that drag racers use to fill water passages, which also strengthens the block. Steve plans to put covers over the old ports. He says the covers do nothing functionally; they are for looks.
