Why start the ARDUN dyno session with a four-barrel carburetor?

To break the engine in with fewer variables than the supercharger brings, and to see what the engine makes on its own, which Steve expects to be close to 300 horsepower. He likes that the setup is simple, and notes that with an air cleaner it would be about as tall as the oil fill tube, so it suits a hot rod with a hood.
