How was this worn-out 1938 Flathead brought back to standard 221?

All eight cylinders were sleeved back to standard bore. The crank was bad on the rod journals, so it was ground to 30 under there; the mains stayed at 20 and were polished. That let Ed reuse the original crankshaft, which he says is a one-of-a-kind short-nose crank. The result is a standard 221, not a 239.
