Why lock ARDUN ignition timing at 26 degrees?
On the advice of Don Ferguson, who makes the heads: set it at 26 degrees advance and lock it there, so it starts at 26 and never goes above 26. Don thinks that is how they run best. Steve's distributor still has its mechanical advance, so he plans to lock it out before the dyno. The timing at the first start was about 10 degrees.
