Why supercharge a Ford Flathead?

Steve says Flatheads are great engines and have proven very robust: his Flathead made 300 horsepower and the ARDUN made 416. They don't breathe very well, so a little help on the intake side wakes them right up. He adds that they are fun to drive and that the supercharger adds to the look.
