How does Ed get a ruined bearing off without pressing it?
Instead of pressing it off, Ed takes a grinder or small cutter, carefully cuts a slot in the bearing, puts a chisel in the crack and hits it a couple of times to split it, and it slides right off. He does this only to bearings that are seized on and will not be reused: asked why he would cut a perfectly good bearing, he says it is not good, it is ruined. He also mentions a puller on the back and jigging it up.
