How do you get a stuck shaft out of an early Ford three-speed?
The shaft has to go out one way and is starting to swell up on top. An impact gun or an air hammer comes up as the way it will probably have to come out. Ed says that before, he drilled a hole there to get at it, and he looks for another way; the part cannot simply be lifted off.
