How did later Ford three-speeds make the cluster gear easier to remove?
Some later gearboxes had some of these teeth ground off, which Ed says was not uncommon because they do not need them all. You would then turn the gear, locate it just right and pull it right out. This early box was not made that way, and Ed says it would not have taken much.
