Who made the ARDUN heads, from the Arkus-Duntov brothers to Don Ferguson?
Two brothers, Zora and Yura Arkus-Duntov, made the originals in the late 40s, and ARDUN comes from the first part of their last name. Steve says not many were made, maybe a couple hundred sets, before they went out of business. Don Orosco, a vintage racer, later retooled and made them again in the early 90s, Steve understands about six sets for his own use. Don Ferguson then bought the tooling and design information and refined the internals, such as the rocker arms, their material and the oiling. The heads on Steve's engine are Don Ferguson reproductions.
